(which means "hello" in Swahili) My name
is Abby Thurmond and I am a junior at Valdosta State University. I am
studying to become an elementary school teacher by majoring in the
Early Childhood and
Special Education Department. Along with my
passion for children and teaching, I have a
passion for traveling! Two of my most treasured experiences were
in the summers of 2007 and 2008 when I combined my loves of traveling,
and teaching, and went to Kenya, Africa.
Kenya we spent time building an orphanage and visiting children and
schools all around rural parts of Kenya. It was an amazing experience.
If you want to learn more about my trip and see more pictures check out
