DEDICATION

This project is dedicated to the former turpentiners who contributed to “Faces” in the Piney Woods: Traditions of Turpentining in South Georgia, especially the late L.A. Nelson and Junior Taylor, both of whom passed away in January of 2004.  They sat patiently and answered our  questions – even the ones that seemed like nothing more than common sense to them .  They understood the importance of this project  perhaps more than we did, and generously shared their time and their memories.
