Join us in September at the annual AAMFT Conference in North Carolina. Many of us from the VSU MFT program will be there. In particular, we invite the new incoming 2012 class to consider going. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the field, talk to students from other MFT programs, hear some great speakers, and, maybe, if you're lucky, you'll get to talk to an author of one of your required reading books!

Congratulations to the many MFT students and faculty who, at the end of June, finished up a 2-week stint out in the blackberry, carrot, and avocado fields of south GA, participating in the 2012 South Georgia Farmworkers Health Project, a collaboration with Emory University’s Physician Assistant Program, providing medical and therapeutic services to immigrant farmworkers, most of whom never see a doctor. The PA students provided medical services, and we provided counseling and therapeutic services. It was an eye-opening and life-changing experience for some of us and a really hot and soggy experience for all of us!
