Welcome
Welcome to the Valdosta State University (VSU) SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation Portal. Here you will find VSU's Compliance Certification report and supporting documentation for its reaffirmation of accreditation with the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. A collaborative effort, the preparation of the Compliance Certification report involved faculty, staff, and students, all of whom work to continuously improve the University.
Compliance Report Navigation
The SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation Portal provides easy access to each of the compliance report responses to the Principles of Accreditation.
The "Compliance Report Summary" tab provides a complete list of the accreditation principles and VSU's responses. An individual compliance report response can be viewed by selecting the "View Compliance Report" link next to that requirement/standard. The compliance report response can also be accessed by using the "SACS Compliance Reports" menu in the left side bar, which allows users to select the core requirements, comprehensive standards, or federal requirements. These sections show only the requirements/standards and responses relevant to each group (i.e., core requirements, comprehensive standards, federal requirements). In these sections, responses to the requirements/standards can be viewed by clicking on the "Requirement Title."
For each requirement and standard, VSU's judgment of compliance and response narrative are provided. Compliance status with a requirement is addressed under the heading "Judgment of Compliance," while narrative explanation is provided in the "Justification for Judgment of Compliance" section.
Throughout each narrative, links to supporting documentation are indicated by superscript numbers inside brackets (ex. [3]). Clicking on these reference numbers opens new windows containing the supporting document. Each superscript number corresponds to the entry of the same number in the "Supporting Documentation" section at the end of the response, which lists all supporting documents used in that response. Clicking on document titles within the list will open the same document as its corresponding embedded reference within the narrative.
The SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation Portal has been designed to make navigation user-friendly and intuitive. To increase ease of access between pages, a drop-down box listing individual requirements/standards and "Next" and "Previous" links are available at the top of each page. At the bottom of the page is a link to a printer-friendly version of that page.
To view an alphabetized list of all of supporting documents used in the Compliance Certification report, select the "File Archive" link in the top menu bar. An alphabetized list of all supporting documents used in the Compliance Certification report is available by selecting the "Image Archive" link in the top menu bar.
Faculty and Administrator Profiles
The SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation Portal provides easy access to the credentials of VSU's faculty and administrative staff.
The "Faculty Profiles" tab provides a complete list of the faculty credential reports sorted in alphabetical order by college, department, and faculty name. Individual faculty profiles are accessible by clicking on the faculty member's name. Likewise, the "Administrator Profiles" tab provides a complete list of administrator credential reports in alphabetical order by office, title, and name. Individual administrator profiles can be viewed by clicking on the administrator's name. Credential reports can also be accessed from the "Faculty & Administrator Profile" menu in the left side bar. Faculty profiles are grouped by college for easy access.
Each individual faculty profile is divided into three sections:
- biographical data, including name, position details, and qualifications, including a current curriculum vitae;
- degrees earned, including degree level, institution, and major field of study; and
- course information, including course name, term taught, and syllabus.
Faculty members' CVs are accessible from the link next to the "Curriculum Vitae" field within the "Qualifications" portion of the biographical data. The degrees listed in the "Degrees" section of a faculty profile are listed in chronological order of receipt. To view further information about a degree, select the "View Details" link to the right of the degree information. Likewise, course entries in the "Courses" section are listed by course prefix, number, and title and then by term and year in which the course was taught.Each faculty profile lists all courses for which the individual faculty member was the instructor of record. If an instructor taught multiple sections of the same course, there will be multiple course entries listed for that course in the faculty profile. Each section will have its own "CRN" field, which can be found by clicking the "Syllabus and Detail" link to the right of the course.
Clicking on the "Syllabus and Detail" link for any course will provide:
- the CRN (course registration number) and the course prefix, number, and title;
- the term in which the course was offered;
- the qualifications of the faculty member to teach the course as well as a justification, if necessary;
- a link to the course syllabus;
- the course description and any prerequisites; and
- whether the course was taught online.
Administrator profiles contain biographical information (name, office/department, job title) and links to administrators' resumes and job descriptions. To view these documents, select the links next to the "Job Description" or "Resume" fields within the "Position" portion of the administrator profile.
