Dr. Weimin Feng, Asisstant Professor |
PhD in Geology from Southern Methodist University. Teaches landforms, geohazards, geochemistry, geostatistics, and mineraology. |
My research interests are paleoclimate, as these records are foundation for our understanding of the climate system, and ultimate touchstone for regional and global climate models. There have been many paleoclimate records derived from geochemical compositions of marine strata, in contrast, terrestrial paleoclimate records are lacking in both quality and quantity. My research aims to acquire new terrestrial paleoclimate records, develop new paleoclimate proxies, and calibrate existing ones. I use isotope tools » to study materials formed in the low-temperature, near surface environments such as paleosols and speleothems. |
