Pool Processes & Committee Guidelines:

Mandatory Fee Processes: All mandatory fees, including the athletics fee complies to BOR policy governing how student fee monies are allocated, as outlined below.

BOR Policy Manual Section 704.021
Proposals submitted by an institution to increase mandatory student fees and proposals to create new mandatory student fees shall first be presented for advice and counsel to a committee at each institution composed of at least fifty percent (50%) students, except in special circumstances when a general purpose fee is instituted system-wide by the Board of Regents (BoR Minutes, June 2009). Students shall be appointed by the institution’s student government association.

All mandatory student fees collected by an institution shall be budgeted and administered by the president using proper administrative procedures, which shall include the advice and counsel of an advisory committee composed at least fifty percent (50%) students, except in special circumstances when a general purpose fee is instituted system-wide by the Board of Regents (BoR Minutes, June 2009). Students shall be appointed by the institution’s student government association.

In compliance with these policies, the Athletic Fee Advisory Committee will recommend actions to the President for the mandatory athletic fee each fall and will hold a budget hearing each spring for the purpose of allocating fees and overall athletic budgets. Advisory Committee actions regarding the athletic fee rate as well as the allocation of the athletic budget must also be presented to the Student Fee Committee for compliance with BOR policy. The Student Fee Committee is coordinated by the Division of Student Affairs.

Schedule & Call for Proposals: Advisory Committee will meet quarterly at a minimum and on a “per need basis.” Deadline for requesting funds will be February 1st. Committee will request proposals from athletic staff members.

Requesting Funds: Proposals must have a justification for need and an estimated cost. Deadline for receipt of proposals will be February 1st. The Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator will jointly consider “emergency” requests and decide if the committee should meet to review a proposal.
