Upward Bound Senior Banquet

The Upward Bound Program held its Annual Senior Awards Banquet on May 11, 2010 honoring our first graduating class of 2010. The awards ceremony highlighted accomplishments of each senior. Upward Bound students faced an accelerated program this year, with four study sessions per week and two Saturday academies each month. Many were also enrolled in honor courses and engaged in the demanding new International Baccalaureate curriculum at Valdosta High. Upward Bound participants attended Georgia Southern University Visitation Day on March 27, 2010. Multiple groups and hundreds of families were also in attendance. GSU held a variety of sessions in which the UB participants attended the financial aid and housing sessions. Afterwards, the students took a tour of the beautiful GSU campus. This was an inspiring event for several of our students who are interested in attending this university.
