homework hotline rules and regulations
There's nothing more frustrating, than getting stuck on a difficult math or science problem. Fortunately, help is available! On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm. VSU Upward Bound students can turn to the Homework Hotline for free tutoring and assistance.
The Homework Hotline is a telephone tutoring service that helps Valdosta High School Upward Bound participants better understand math, science, English, and social studies concepts.
The Homework Hotline will begin on Monday, September 20, 2010 for students needing additional help in their coursework. The telephone numbers will be provided upon request. The following are the rules and regulations for the Upward Bound Homework Hotline:
1. Students who call the Hotline will be asked to give their first name, last name, and the subject in which tutoring services are needed.
2. Students should have the following items handy before calling the Homework Hotline:
- Homework assignment
- Textbook (if available)
- Paper
- Pen or pencil
- Calculator (if needed)
3. Participants will be courteous to all tutors assisting with the Homework Hotline. Profanity, disrespect, or senseless antics are strickly PROHIBITED.
4. Any student identified by the Upward Bound Staff as being "ON ACADEMIC PROBATION" will have to come on campus for individual tutoring once a week. Failure to do so will result in that students being suspended fromt the program.
