Ms. Walden began her academic journey at VSU where she earned her B.S in Psychology in 1987. She later attended Troy State Unviersity where she earned her M.S in Counseling & Human Development in 1991. Now, she pursing an Ed.D in Educational Leadership, Higher Ed Emphasis from Argosy University based in Sarasota, FL.

Ms. Walden feels she sort of fell into advising when she was living in Europe. She landed a job working at a NATO support unit that provided educational  services to the U.S. military as well as children of NATO members.  She found the work interesting and rewarding.  When she returned to the Valdosta area, Ms. Walden had to opportunity to establish an advising center for undeclared students, and the rest is history!  She believe advisors have this tremendous opportunity to impact students’ lives in ways that help them not only fulfill their academic and career goals, but to become active learners and not merely passive recipients in the educational experience.  Most of all, Ms. Walden loves watching students discover their passions and realize that they are the authors of their own stories.

She aspires to continue to grow and develop as a leader.
