DRAWPROJECT at Turner Center
The Department of Art and the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts will host the DRAWPROJECT from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10.
Artists from across the country donated more than 50 pieces of artwork for the annual silent auction that funds scholarships to support VSU Art majors, including the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts Scholarship and the Danielle B. Harmon Student Merit Scholarships.
Each original work must interpret the concept of “drawing” on a 15x22-inch sheet of paper. Gift certificates starting at $50 are available to put toward the artwork, which start at $50 bids.
Jamie Harmon, former Turner Center curator, was initially responsible for the DRAWPROJECT. Harmon, whose wife and former VSU Art Department faculty member Danielle Harmon died this year after battling cancer. The 2011 exhibit will feature Danielle's work and recognize the couple's contributions to the area art community.
For more information, go to the DRAWPROJECT homemage or the VSU Department of Art webpage. Those interested in sponsorships or gift cards may call Department Head A. Blake Pearce at 333-5835. Read more >
