Understanding Your Benefits

It's that time of year again to tear into benefits packets and sort out which plan works best for you. Employees must enroll for 2011 benefits by Friday, Nov. 5.

ENROLL ONLINE

Log into the Employee Self Service System and click on the Benefits Tab for an explanation of plans and enrollment instructions. ADP will send confirmation statements, which employees may edit prior to Friday, Nov. 19.

Childhood Immunization Scheduler: Relevant age-related tools and information for children 0-6 years.

Exercise Program: Measure and manage your fitness with guides from leading fitness and health experts.

Discounts: Find out ways to save on alternative medicine, fitness and nutrition, vision and other services and products.

RETIREMENT MANAGER

The USG has a new online system — "Retirement Manager" — to help you manage your 40b3b and 457 supplemental retirement accounts. Check out the What’s New webpage.

A Productive Union

Special Education Professors Patti and Robert Campbell are worth about $30 million — at least that is the total grant funds they have secured throughout their 40-year careers. Arguably even more impressive is that the husband-wife team has been able to collaborate, even share a small office in the early years, with few squabbles or struggles for power.

“We have written so many grants together that we now work seamlessly, each focusing on certain sections of the grant. We often have 30 calendar days to submit a proposal, so there isn’t time to argue. He did say I was a bit wordy this time,” Patti said with a grin. Read more >
