Scholarship Information

Music scholarships are available in all areas of applied study. Only those applicants who have applied to VSU as full time music majors will be considered for scholarships. In addition to the music scholarships listed below there are many other types of financial aid available to students. Our Office of Financial Aid is an excellent place to start in your search for scholarships and financial aid.

  • Financial assistance for all music majors
  • The Ellene Dorminy Music Scholarship
  • Substantial financial assistance for all music majors
  • The Kay M. Jennett Endowed Scholarship
  • For instrumental music majors
    State residency not required
  • The Jerry Jennett Choir Endowed Scholarship
  • For male voice majors
  • The Lucy Martin Stewart Scholarship
  • Substantial scholarship for voice majors
    Students must be Georgia residents to be eligible
  • The Robert F. Barr Music Scholarship
  • Financial assistance for wind, percussion or strings majors
  • Marching Band and Pep Band Stipends

  • Awardees are required to perform in the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra.
