2012-2013 VSU JAZZ AUDITIONS
JAZZ ENSMBLE, NEW JAZZ ENSEMBLE AND JAZZ COMBOS
MONDAY, AUGUST 13 (Band Room)
2:00PM: RHYTHM SECTION AUDITIONS (for Jazz Ensembles & Combos)
Auditions will consist of the Prepared Pieces & basic styles/grooves
2:30PM: JAZZ COMBO AUDITIONS (for All Instruments, including Rhythm)
Auditions will consist of Improvisation on a Blues or a Standard Tune
TUESDAY, AUGUST 14 (Band Room)
11:00AM: SAXOPHONE, TRUMPET and TROMBONE AUDITIONS (for Jazz Ensembles)
Auditions will consist of the Prepared Pieces & Sight-Reading with respective sections
PREPARED PIECES
All students will be required to play Prepared Pieces as part of their audition.
