Karl Paoletti is a new Assistant Professor of Voice at Valdosta State University. Before joining the voice faculty at VSU, he was an Assistant Professor of Voice at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Dr. Paoletti is an active and versatile baritone soloist. His career includes a wide variety of professional and collegiate engagements in both the United States and abroad. In April 2010, he performed the baritone solos in Vaughan William’s Five Mystical Songs at the South Korea Baptist University in Daejeon, South Korea. While serving as a faculty member at West Virginia Wesleyan College, he was the featured baritone soloist in Carmina Burana with the West Virginia Choral Arts Society, Chanticleer Children’s Chorus and the West Virginia Wesleyan College Concert Choir at the Clay Center for the Performing Arts Center in Charleston, West Virginia. He has sung both leading and supporting roles with The Gold Coast Opera, Columbia Lyric Opera, Pensacola Opera, Amarillo Opera, Treasure Coast Opera, West Virginia Symphony/Opera, The Bay View Summer Music Festival, Palm Beach Opera and The University of North Texas Opera Theater. He has performed under the baton of Maestro Anton Guadagno and has sung with world renowned singers such as Sherrill Milnes and Diana Soverio. Equally at home in oratorio repertoire, he was the featured soloist with the Delray Beach Chorale and Orchestra, the Gainesville Civic Chorus and Orchestra, The East Texas Chamber Ensemble, The Daytona Beach Chorus and Orchestra and Plantation United Methodist Church Concert Series with members of Florida Philharmonic Orchestra in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
