Searching for Books
The GIL-Find catalog is used to find books and other materials owned by Odum Library
The GIL Universal Catalog allows you to search for books and other materials owed by other libraries in the University System of Georgia. GIL Express allows you to have those books delivered to any USG library within 2-5 days.

Requesting Books and Articles not owned by VSU
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows you to request articles, books, and other materials from other libraries. You can use ILLiad to get articles in 2-5 days, or books in 2 weeks.
Finding Theses and Dissertations
To Find these and dissertations written by VSU students,
- Search the GIL-Find Catalog. Include the words Valdosta State University and either Theses or Dissertation in your search.

As a VSU student, you may visit and check out books from any of the System's libraries. The general borrowing period for regular books is 28 days and you are allowed to make 2 renewals. To find out information about a member library’ hours and computer accessibility, you will need to contact the individual library.
