GIL Express Service |
| GIL Express is a service that allows you to borrow items as available from University System of Georgia (USG) Libraries through placing an online request in the GIL-Find Universal Catalog or on site when visiting one of the USG libraries. The GIL-Find Universal Catalog (or GIL U.C.) is the combined catalogs of all the USG Libraries. It allows you to search the entire state for books, CDs, DVDs, and more! | |

| Simply visit the library of your choice and select the materials that you wish to check out. If you do not have a VSU 1Card ID, another photo ID will be requested in system verification that you are eligible to use GIL Express. | Placed in the GIL Universal Catalog, online requests are delivered to the USG library of your choice - allowing you to determine the most convenient pick-up location. See the below example. |
Everyone has a 28-day loan period with 2 renewals (if no one else has requested the book). The GIL Universal Catalog is available at http://gilfinduc.usg.edu/. |
|
Log in by clicking on "My Account" in the gray bar at the top of the page. If you need to get/change your PIN and are having trouble, visit our PIN Help page. |
|
When you search for a book and find the item that you want, left click on the Place GIL-Express Request button under the record. |
|
| A "Place a Request" window will appear. Choose the date where you will no longer require the item, and where you will pick it up. Click "Submit Request" when you are done. | |
When you successfully submit a request, you will get a confirmation screen. If you need to check on your GIL Express order, log in and click on "Requests," which brings you to this page. |
