a newsparper in which the latest news of important college happenings could be recorded. This year that dream
was realized when THE CAMPUS CANOPY, the weekly newspaper, made its first appearance in November.

Notes: The paper is a four-column, four-page weekly publication, and is pronted on magazine paper. Staff
meetings were held this year to discuss the problems of journalism on the campus. These meetings furthered the aims of
the publication--to make the paper an essential feature of campus life, to bring an appreciation of journalism to the students,
and to raise the standard of the paper itself.

Georgia, October 27.

Notes: Having rated second-class in the past, the Canopy set its cap for a higher honor by modernizing the make-up
with an occasional picture page, dropped banner, and magazine-like appearance. Among the college reforms campaigned for through
editorial columns was the abolition of the stagger system, which was granted in the early fall.
