1. Guinsing red From Tangansen Bali, 90 years old;
3 Ban Chiang Vases, dates (1 over 1650 years old; 1 over 2000 years old; and 1 over 3000 years old
23 digital photographs from Charles Kessler's Tibetian Display
10 books on textiles and Ban Chiang Pottery were also donated.
Biographical material was supplied for exhibit.
1 trunk of Indonesian, Laotian, and Cambodian, Mynamar, Thai, textiles--at least 35 items
Scope and Contents: This is an excellent Asian Art collection containing award winning photographs taken in Tibet, Asian Antiquarian vases, and a wealth of tapestries from all over East Asia. The Kessler collection will lend itself well to exhibition and web exhibition. Documentation and appraisal information is extensive with this collection. The scanned images are at V:\librarydata\archives_store\Projects and Collections\Kessler Collection and also on Archon as watermarked jpgs.
Comments: Pictures have been scanned and returned. A textile inventory needs to be included with the thank you letter. Some pieces of the Kessler collection could go on display as early as August, 2011, with a full exhibit January 2012.
