Donating Library Materials

If you wish to make a financial donation, please see the Giving to the Library page.

The Odum Library is glad to accept donations of books, media products, or journals. Materials are accepted following the established Gift policy.

In selecting materials to donate, please do not include damaged materials. The library generally does not accept textbooks or other expendable print materials such as lab manuals. Single issues or scattered runs of magazines and journals are usually not useful to the collection. Media such as LP records, VHS tapes, audio cassettes and CDs, and DVDs should be in good condition with original packaging. When you donate materials please fill out a Gift Record Form so an acknowledgement letter is received. The library does not place a value on donated materials.

All gift materials receive a standard gift plate. If you want a specific text please indicate that on the Gift Record Form.

Not all donated materials may be added to the collection and if you wish materials returned to you please indicate that on the Gift Record Form, otherwise, unused materials will be disposed of at the library's discretion.

If you have questions about gifts, the gift policy, or bringing gifts to the library you may call Ken Smith, Acquisitions Librarian (245-3734) or Guy Frost, Catalog Librarian (259-5060).
