Mission Statement

The mission of the Circulation Department of Odum Library is to ensure excellent service through efficient management of the collections. The Circulation Dept:
• Provides timely service to all library patrons
• Maintains a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Performs all circulation procedures efficiently
• Creates and maintains an environment that is fair and professional for all employees and an environment that is inviting and pleasant for all users
• Seeks speedy, sensible, and amenable solutions to all circulation problems

These goals are achieved through:
• Competent training of all personnel in correct policy and procedure
• Constant encouragement and recognition of high performance
• Fostering teamwork and a cooperative spirit
• Enabling staff to perform tasks they are qualified to do and being held accountable for working towards the Library's common goals

The accomplishment of our mission is dependent on maximizing the contributions of all staff (including our student assistants) through a supportive work environment that advocates and defends fair treatment and strong communications.
