The SAC is also responsible for selecting the LCOBA Teacher of the Year from nominees voted upon by the student body. We are dedicated to recognizing and awarding superior performance in the classroom. Our selection of Teacher of the Year is based upon students' recommendations, teaching styles, instructors' passion for educating students, and carious other criteria decided upon by the Council.

Dr. Ellis Heath

Dr. Ellis Heath is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Langdale College of Business. He joined the faculty in the fall of 2009. Dr. Heath completed his MA in Economics at Youngstown State University in the fall of 2003 and in the spring of 2009 at West Virginia University he finished his PhD in Economics. His fields are monetary economics and international economics. His research empirically investigates financial linkages in the macroeconomy. At Valdosta State University, he teaches Principles of Macroeconomics and Money and Banking.
