Dr. James A. Muncy
Professor of Marketing

Jim Muncy is Professor of Marketing. Primarily he teaches in the areas of buyer behavior and sales. He received his BA (with honors) in psychology from Texas Tech in 1978 and his Ph.D. in marketing from Texas Tech in 1983. Dr. Muncy has also taught at the University of Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Clemson University. He came to Valdosta State University in 1993. Dr. Muncy has published numerous articles that have appeared in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing and Public Policy, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Marketing Education, Advances in Consumer Research, and other marketing related journals. Dr. Muncy spent five years as the Executive Director for the Association for Consumer Research, the largest consumer research association in the world. He is also a frequent speaker to many business firms, civic groups, and religious organizations. Dr. Muncy and his wife Lisa served for six years as Co-Presidents of the Valdosta Area Homeschooling Association.
