Dr. LUIS GONZALeZ
Assistant Professor of Economics
Dr. Luis J. Gonzalez joined the Langdale College of Business Administration in the fall of 2011 as a tenure-track assistant professor of economics. Dr. Gonzalez had been a visiting assistant professor at Valdosta State University the previous year. Prior to his arrival in Valdosta, Dr. Gonzalez worked in Dallas, Texas for the economic, financial, and strategy consulting firm Analysis Group. Dr. Gonzalez received a BA from Georgetown College (Georgetown, Kentucky, 2003) and an MS and Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky (2005 and 2009). His current research focuses on the wealth and health of elderly households and interactions between parents and their children. At Valdosta State University Dr. Gonzalez primarily teaches courses in applied microeconomics and microeconomic theory at both the principles and intermediate levels. He also teaches managerial economics in the Langdale College MBA program.
