Ralph C. Allen
Professor Emeritus of Economics
Dr. Allen has served as Dean of the Langdale College of Business since July 2005. Prior to being selected as Dean, Dr. Allen was the Head of Langdale College's Department of Marketing and Economics and Director of the MBA Program. As a Professor of Economics, he taught economics courses at Valdosta State University since 1982.
Dr. Ralph C. Allen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Emory University, a Masters of Science in Mathematical Statistics from Georgia State University, and a Doctorate degree in Economics from Georgia State University in Atlanta. As the author of over forty research journal articles and papers, Dr. Allen has received research awards from the Langdale College of Business. His primary research interests are in the fields of applied micro theory, economics of crime, and macro-foundations.
Dr. Allen is married with three children.
