Dreamweaver CS3 running on Windows XP
Web space is granted as part of your email account. This is a step by step guide for the configuration of Dreamweaver CS3 to develop and publish personal home pages. In order to create personal home pages using Dreamweaver CS3, you will need to use your Active Directory username and password in order for the web server to authenticate access. Contact the Helpdesk to have your password reset if you are unfamiliar with your current password.
Open Dreamweaver CS3 and click on Site, New Site.
Enter the name you would like to give your web site on your computer and enter the url of your web site: http://mypages.valdosta.edu/username/. Click Next.
Click on the radio button that says "No, I do not want to use a server technology". Click Next.
Make sure the radio button "Edit local copies on my ..." is chosen then choose a folder to locally store your web site files. Click Next .
How do you connect to your remote server? Choose FTP.
What is the hostname or FTP address of your Web server? Type in mypages.valdosta.edu
What folder on the server do you want to store your files in? Leave blank.
What is your FTP login? This is your Active Directory username.
What is your FTP password? This is your Active Directory password.
Check "Use Secure FTP (SFTP)"
Leave the radio button at "No, do not enable ..." and click Next.
If everything looks correct click Done and begin working on your web site.
