Connecting to Mypages with Dreamweaver CS5
Web space is granted as part of your email account. This is a step by step guide for the configuration of Dreamweaver CS5 to develop and publish personal home pages. In order to create personal home pages using Dreamweaver CS5 you will need to use your Active Directory Username and password in order for the web server to authenticate access. Contact the Helpdesk to have your password reset if you are unfamiliar with your current password.
Step 1
Open Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.
Select Site > New Site from the top menu bar.

Selecting Site > New Site from the top menu bar.
Step 2
The Site Setup box will open. Under the Site section, insert your name in the Site Name field.
In the Local Site Folder field, click the folder icon.
Create a new folder on your local machine. This folder is important because it will be where all of your website files go on your computer.
Once you have done this, the folder's location should appear in the Local Site Folder field.

Step 3
Click on the Servers section on the left hand side of the Site Setup box. You will be adding the connection to the server for your site.
Click on the Plus Sign in the lower left corner of the right section.

Step 4
A new box will open up. This is where you will be inserting the server information.
Server Name: Mypages
Connect using: SFTP
SFTP Address: mypages.valdosta.edu
Username: This is your Active Directory username. In this example it's janedoe.
Password: This is your Active Directory password.
Root Directory: (leave blank)
Web URL: http://mypages.valdosta.edu/yourusername/ (For example: http://mypages.valdosta.edu/janedoe/)

IMPORTANT!
It is not recommended that you select the "Save" option on a public computer. This will allow others to access your website. If you are using a public computer, please uncheck this option after you have tested the connection.
Step 5
Click the Test button in the window from the previous step. If you have put in the correct information, the following dialog box will appear:

Click OK on this dialog box.
Click Save in the window from the previous step.
Step 6
You will now see a new connection listed in the Servers section of the Site Setup box.
Click the Save button in the Site Setup box. You are now ready to work in Dreamweaver CS5 with your new connection.
