How to Request A Mailing List

NOTICE: Many of these mailing lists are currently being transitioned to Windows Live Distribution Groups. You may still use this form to request a mailing list to be created in the appropriate service. Information provided here is for archival purposes and is in transition. 8-26-2010.

Setup Requirements for Mailing Lists

VSU Mailman Mailing List Service supports mailing lists for VSU faculty, staff, and student organizations for various purposes such as official distributions, academic forums, and classroom forums.

Alternatively, groups or classes in WebCT Vista will better serve VSU constiuencies with better and more comprehensive tools. For more information on these services please contact PortalSteward@valdosta.edu.

Use of a mailing list on a listserver impacts on the e-mail system, causing multiple copies to be sent to each mail box but includes the advantages of better privacy, searchable archives, allow non-VSU subscribers, and reach to the lowest common denominator (everyone has e-mail) and broadest dispersion (can serve international forums).
