How do I turn [the projector] on?
Most of the classrooms have similar setups with minor differences. We are currently working methodically to remove all of the wall switches to decrease the lamp burn-out rate. However, until this is done there remains two separate ways a projector may be turned on.

A) If the remote control does not display a power button, then the projector is most likely ignited using a wall switch. This is usually located next to the teacher's workstation, or directly behind the workstation near the white board.
B) If the remote control does display a power button, then you may use this medium to turn on the projector. However, if you report difficulty with this, please adjust the angle you are aiming at the projector due to the age of that particular model. If changing your position does not help, then you may need a battery replacement in which case you will have to contact the Information Technology Helpdesk at 245-4357.
C) If the remote is missing, please read here.

How do I toggle between screens?
If you are currently teaching in a classroom which requires the use of a laptop computer or have presentations in which the students are using laptop machines, please press the function key (the FN located at the bottom left of your keyboard) and the F4 button along the top rows. Be aware this toggles the displays to laptop only, screen only, and then both of the screens. Please be patient while it adjusts.

There is no sound. What do I do?
If you are not receiving any sound, please use the following steps for troubleshooting:
A) Mute
a. Check your sound controls to verify that the system is not on Mute. This can be done by going to Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, which will display a screen that gives you the option to manipulate the device volume. Please make sure the first check box with Mute next to it is not checked and that the volume bar is pushed to an appropriate level.

I scheduled an event with Event Services but there are no technicians at my event. What do I do?
If this has occurred, please contact Information Technology Helpdesk at 245-4357 and have them page an Audio Visual technician on duty. Audio Visual Support encourages technicians to arrive thirty minutes in advance to an event and stay until five minutes after the event was to have started. If a technician is not present it is possible that notification did not occur and the technicians were unaware of the event. Please draw this to their attention if this has occurred to you.
