Honors Certificate Requirements
Honors Program Certificate
To receive a University Honors Program certificate and VSU diploma seal, the following course requirements must be met:
| Honors 1990 (Honors Introductory Seminar) | 2 credit hours |
| Five Honors Core Courses or Honors Option Credit (may be used no more than three times) | 13-17 credit hours |
| Honors 3990 (Honors Capstone Seminar) *Note: An upper division Honors Course may substitute for Honors 3990, with prior Honors Program approval. |

Honors College Certificate
To receive a University Honors College certificate and VSU diploma seal, the following course requirements must be met:
Honors 1990 (Honors Introductory Seminar) 2 credit hours One Honors Perspectives Course 2 credit hours Core Honors courses (choice) 2 - 3 6 - 9 credit hours Major Honors courses or Honors Options in the major (choice) 3 - 2 9 - 6 credit hours Honors Research Methods course HONS 3999 (or approved substitute) 3 credit hours Honors Capstone Experience (HONS 4990/ HONS 4000/Internship) 3 credit hours Global Experience 9 credit hours of a foreign language OR a study abroad OR an approved substitute.
Transfer of Credits
The use of honors credit hours from other colleges and universities toward the requirements for the Honors Program certificate will be considered and evaluated on an individual basis.
