Disabling the Autoplay Feature in Windows 7

Step 1

Click on the Start button.

Click the Windows button

Step 2

Then, click inside the Search bar.

Type gpedit.msc, then click the program gpedit..

Now, double-click Administrative Templates.

Next click All Settings.

Click Setting to reorder the items, making them easier to navigate.

Now, scroll down until you reach Turn off Autoplay, and then double-click it.

Step 8

In order to disable Autoplay, click the Enabled radio button, you may then choose if you want to disable it for all drives, or just specific ones.
