Section 6: Java Verification
Step 1:
Download Sun Microsystems Java from our downloads page.
Step 2:
If you receive a security warning, click the Run button.
Step 3:
If the installer tells you that Java has already been installed on your computer, click the No button. Then, skip the remaining steps of Java verification and proceed to Section 7: Sound Settings.
Step 4:
Click the Accept > button.
Step 5:
Uncheck the checkbox in front of any Toolbars the Java offers to install.
Then, click the Next > button.
Step 6:
Click the Finish button.
Step 7:
Click the Start button on the bottom left corner of your desktop. Then, click Control Panel.
Step 8:
Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.

Step 9:
Please be patient as it may take several minutes to populate this list. Look for any versions of Java other than the recommended version.
If you find one, click on the name of the entry. Then, click the Remove button. Finally, follow the steps provided by the uninstaller.
Repeat this step until you only have the recommended version.
Note: As shown in the screenshot below, some older versions of Java may be listed as J2SE or J2RE.
