Section 7: Sound Settings

Step 1:

The main cause of sound issues on a computer is usually the speakers or microphone being muted. Click the Start button. Then, click Control Panel.

Step 2:

Double-click Sound and Audio Devices.

Step 3:

Click the Advanced button.

Step 4:

Click the Options menu. Then, click Properties.

Step 5:

Make sure the radio button in front of Playback is marked. Make sure the checkboxes in front of Volume Control and Wave are checked. Finally, click the OK button.

Step 6:

Under the Volume Control section, make sure the checkbox in front of Mute all is unchecked. In addition, under the Wave section, make sure the checkbox in front of Mute is unchecked.

Use the sliders in each section to adjust the playback volume.

Step 7:

Click the Options menu. Then, click Properties.

Step 8:

Make sure the radio button in front of Recording is marked. Make sure the checkbox in front of Microphone is checked. Finally, click the OK button.

Step 9:

Under the Microphone section, make sure the checkbox in front of Select is checked.

Use the sliders to adjust the recording volume.
