Shutting Down the Virtual Machine

After you are finishing using VMWare, we recommended that you shut it down instead of suspending it, as suspending the Virtual Machine takes up a fairly large amount of hard drive space.

Step 1:

To shut down the Virtual Machine, click on the Start menu in the Virtual Machine, then click Shut Down.

Click Start then shut down

Step 2:

After Windows has shut down, click the VMware Fusion menu on the top toolbar, then click Quit VMware Fusion.

Close out VMware Fusion

Congratulations! You have successfully shut down a virtual machine. If you have an questions or concerns, please contact the Helpdesk at helpdesk@valdosta.edu or 229-245-HELP (4357). Please note that our work request system can only accept emails sent from a VSU email address.
