Burning CDs

Step 1

Insert a blank CD or DVD into the computer.

Step 2

A menu will appear asking where you would like to open the disc. Select Open Finder. Then press the OK button.

An icon of the disc will appear on the desktop as Untitled CD or Untitled DVD.

Step 4

Double-click on the disc's icon. This will open a new window.

Step 5

Using the menu at the left side of the window, find the items you would like written to the disc.

Click on the item and drag the item over to the menu on the left. Remember to continue holding down the left-click button as you drag the item.

Step 7

Once at the left menu, place the item over the option Untitled CD or DVD. This action will cause a light blue box to appear over the selected destination of the data. Release the left-click button on the mouse.

Step 8

The window will now take you to the contents of the disc. Repeat steps 5 through 7 until you all the files you wish to write to the disc appear. Once it has, press the Burn button at the top right corner of the screen.

A new window will appear. Write the title of the disc in the Disc Name box.

Press the Burn button in the bottom right corner of the window.

Another new window will appear. The computer is now burning the disc. This may take several minutes depending on number and size of the files you are burning. Please be patient while the computer finishes burning the CD or DVD.

Once the disc is finished, all windows will close. The disc's icon on the desktop will now have the name you assigned.

Right-click on the disc's icon.

Select Eject from the provided menu. The computer will now eject the disc.
