email limit workaround outlook 2010
Symptoms:
Unable to send emails to more than 500 recipients a day.
Cause:
Microsoft has set the limit for Exchange to 500 recipients per day.
Step 1:
Make sure that Outlook is closed.
Step 2:
Click the Start button. Then, click Control Panel.
Step 3:
Click Mail.
Step 4:
A menu will pop up. Select Prompt for a profile to be used and then click Add.
Step 5:
Type in a Profile name. Then click OK.
Step 6:
At the next pop up, select Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Then click Next.
Step 7:
Select Internet E-mail. Then click Next
Step 8:
Another menu will pop up. Fill in the appropriate fields. Make sure that the Account Type is set to POP3. Set the Incoming Mail Server to 0.0.0.0. The Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) should be set to smtp.valdosta.edu. Also, make sure you enter in a fake password.
Step 9:
At the next pop up, Click Close.

Step 10:
Click on the Start menu. Then open Outlook.
Step 11:
A menu will pop up. Select the profile that you have just created. Then click OK.
Step 12:
You should now be able to send out mail merges. When you have finished sending out messages, close Outlook. Then, reopen Outlook and select your regular profile for Outlook.
Congratulations! You have successfully created another profile in Outlook 2010 to be able to send out emails to more than 500 recipients. If this does not correct the issue, please contact the VSU IT Helpdesk at helpdesk@valdosta.edu or at 229-245-4357.
