Setting up Windows Live on Apple Mail (Mac OS 10.5 - Leopard)
Note: This guide is designed specifically for setting up Windows Live in Apple Mail on Mac OS X (10.5 - Leopard). If you are running Mac OS X (10.6 - Snow Leopard), please click here to access the appropriate steps.
Open Apple Mail.
Enter full name, email address, and password.
Once this is completed, click the Continue button.
For the Account Type, select Exchange from the drop-down menu.
Use outlook.com for the Incoming Mail Server and the Outlook Web Access Server.
Enter your email address for the User Name.
Type your password and then click the Continue button.
The Description section is optional and can be left blank.
Type outlook.com for the Outgoing Mail Server.
Make sure the Use only this server and Use Authentication are checked.
Enter your email for the User Name followed by your password.
Once completed, click the Continue button.
If the Verify Certificate prompt appears, click the Connect button.
Double-check the information for accuracy. You can click Go Back to make additional corrections.
Make sure the Take account online option is selected.
Once this is completed and the information is correct, click the Create button.
Congratulations! You have successfully setup your e-mail account on Apple Mail.
Apple Mail will now synchronize with your VSU E-mail account. Please be patient, as depending on the number and size of the e-mails in your account, this may take some time.
