Filtering Messages Based on Words in the Subject

Step 1:

Make sure you have completed the steps from our guide for Filtering Mail before proceeding.

Step 2:

Click Move messages with specific words in the subject to a folder.

Step 3:

Click the specified words link in the left window.

Click Specified Words

 

Step 4:

In the top blank, enter the word or words you would like to base the filter on. Then, click the Add button.

The text should appear in the center field surrounded by quotation marks.

Then, click the OK button.

Step 5:

Click the specified link in the left window.

Click Specified

 

Step 6:

Click the name of the folder that you would like the e-mails to be filtered to. Then, click the OK button.

Choose the Folder and click OK

 

Step 7:

In the Name: field, enter a title for the filter. Then, click the Save button.

Enter a Name and Click Save

 

Congratulations! You have successfully set up a filter for a specific word or set of words.
