Manually Running a Virus scan
LANDesk Antivirus is an enterprise-level anti-virus utility available on all computers owned by Valdosta State University. This package is not available through Valdosta State University for use on computers that are not owned by the university.
LANDesk Antivirus will automatically scan your computer during scheduled intervals as well as scanning new files as they are downloaded or copied to your computer. However, there may be cases in which you would like to initiate a scan on your own, such as when you are plugging a jump drive into your computer. You can do so using the steps listed below:
On the task bar in the bottom right of your desktop, right click on the LANDesk logo. You may need to display all of the items here by clicking the upwards facing triangle.
Now, select the option to Scan my computer for viruses...
A full computer scan will now begin. Please be aware that this scan may take quite a bit of time.
You have successfully scanned your computer with LANDesk Antivirus. If you have an questions or concerns, please contact the Helpdesk at firstname.lastname@example.org or 229-245-HELP (4357). Please note that our work request system can only accept emails sent from a VSU email address.
