Manually Running a Virus scan

LANDesk Antivirus is an enterprise-level anti-virus utility available on all computers owned by Valdosta State University. This package is not available through Valdosta State University for use on computers that are not owned by the university.

LANDesk Antivirus will automatically scan your computer during scheduled intervals as well as scanning new files as they are downloaded or copied to your computer. However, there may be cases in which you would like to initiate a scan on your own, such as when you are plugging a jump drive into your computer. You can do so using the steps listed below:

Step 1:

On the task bar in the bottom right of your desktop, right click on the LANDesk logo. You may need to display all of the items here by clicking the upwards facing triangle.

Right click on LANDEsk logo

Step 2:

Now, select the option to Scan my computer for viruses...

select to scan my computer for viruses

Step 3:

A full computer scan will now begin. Please be aware that this scan may take quite a bit of time.

Scan is now being run

Congratulations!
