VSU Electronic Accounts Quick Reference

Please note that some of your VSU electronic accounts, such as Windows Live (E-mail) and BlazeVIEW (Online Course System), have automated username and password reset tools available. Please follow the directions for acquiring your login information from the table below.

Description
Login / Password Assistance
VSU Email (Windows Live)

NOTICE: As of September 1, 2011, Microsoft will have new password requirements for Windows Live. For more details, please review our related IT Service Status post.

Username:
Your email address is located within the Banner (Registration) system and can be determined by the steps listed in our username lookup guide.
Please note that your username will be your full VSU e-mail address.

Password:
If you are logging into your VSU account with Windows Live for the first time, you will need to use the following as your instructions to obtain your credentials to the Windows Live:

Windows Live username login: janbrady@valdosta.edu
Windows Live password: YYYYJBXXXX

(where YYYY is the year of birth, and JB is the capitalized first and last name initials of your name as recorded in Banner, and XXXX are the last 4 digits of your 870 ID #) Lookup Your 870 ID # Here.

You will be required to change your password after login. Be sure to also set your secret answer to perform password recovery.

Password Reset:
Please use the Forgot your password? link on the Windows Live login page. This method will only work if you have set up a security question in Windows Live. If you encounter issues while using this tool, please send the Helpdesk a password reset form.

Simplified Sign-On
The Simplified Sign-On username and password credentials are also used for the following services:

Username:
Your username will be displayed to you after completing the initial steps of performing a password reset using the password reset tool.

Password:
Please use our password reset tool if you need to reset this password. The password will be synchronized between these systems.

Password Requirements:

  • At least 8 characters in length
  • No more than 20 characters in length
  • Contains at least one upper and lower case letter
  • Contains at least one number
  • Must not resemble a real word

Banner Registration for Faculty and Students

  • Class Registration
  • Fee Payment
  • Grades
  • Housing Registration

Username:
Your Banner Web username should be your VSUID number.

Password:
For password assistance, please contact the Office of the Registrar.

Password Requirements:
Your Password should be 8 characters long and include at least 1 number and 1 letter. No special characters should be used.

Office Computer Remote Access - Employees Only (FTP)

Username:
Your username is located within the Banner (Registration) system and can be determined by the steps listed in our username lookup guide.

Password:
For password assistance, please send the Helpdesk a password reset form.

GALILEO
Georgia's Virtual Library

Username:
When you reach the GALILEO login page, there will be  three fields for you to enter the following information:

  • Your student or employee ID number (870XXXXXX)
  • Your last name
  • PIN - If you do not know your PIN, you can retrieve it from the MyGil Account Login page.

Password:
You will not have an individualized password for GALILEO. Instead, the same password is used by all Valdosta State University affiliates and is changed each semester. If you do not know the current GALILEO password, you can use the Odum Library Anywhere Access page to look it up. You will need to know your BlazeVIEW username and password to access this information.

ADP / Shared Services

Peoplesoft
Travel Expense Reimbursement/eProcurement

Username / Password:
For username or password assistance, please submit a Peoplesoft Assistance Form.

INB / Banner Forms - Administrative Access Only

In order to request access to the Banner Student Information System, administrative staff and department heads should complete the Internet Native Banner (INB) Account Request form located on the Office of the Registrar's Forms Page.
