SUBJECT: Honors Dinner Deadlines
The 2013 Valdosta State University Honors Dinner will be held on Thursday May 2, 2013 starting at 6:00 p.m. The Honors Dinner annually honors the nine top university-level award winners, the five top college-level award winners, the Annie Powe Hopper Award winner, and the Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the year. The following awards will be announced and handed out at this year’s Honors Dinner:
1. University System of GA Academic Recognition Day Award
2. Alpha Lambda Delta Marie Leonard Book Award
3. Clare Philips Martin Scholarship
4. Master of Library and Information Science—George Gaumond Award:
5. Most Outstanding AS300 Cadet
6. American Association of University Women Award
7. Marga Award
8. Mac Award
9. Annie Powe Hopper Award
10. The Bartram Award for Intellectual Exploration
11. Outstanding College of the Arts Award
12. Outstanding Student in Arts and Sciences
13. Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award
14. College of Education Highest Academic Achievement Award
15. Outstanding Senior Nursing Student Award
16. Outstanding Male Athlete
17. Outstanding Female Athlete
Please note the following deadlines for submitting award information and physical awards to Monique Tripp, Office of Event Services:
Friday, March 22nd Award Descriptions and Recipient Names are due
Submit the name of the award to be given, the current criteria for the award, the name of the award recipient, and the name, address, and phone number of the recipient and his or her parents/spouse. All materials must be submitted via email using the appropriate form available at the following website: http://www.valdosta.edu/eventservices/AcademicAwardsDinner.shtml
Friday, April 10th Physical Awards are due
Take awards (certificates, plaques, books, etc.) to the Office of Events Services. Packaging for the awards will be provided by that office.
