SUBJECT: Annie Powe Hopper Award Nominations
The Academic Awards and Scholarships Committee is seeking nominations for the Annie Powe Hopper Award.
The Annie Powe Hopper Award is Valdosta State University’s most prestigious academic award and represents the highest values of the university and the highest level of individual academic achievement by an undergraduate.
Please forward this email to any appropriate parties asking them to consider nominating an outstanding student for this award.
The recipient should be a senior who is a model of academic excellence, who best exemplifies the traditions of the university as well as the character, dignity, and charm associated with the memory of Annie Powe Hopper.
All nominees must meet the following minimum criteria:
- G.P.A. of 3.0 or better in ALL academic work
- Minimum of 60 semester hours in academic subjects at VSU by the end of Fall 2012.
- Graduation date of December 2012 through August 2013.
Nominations should be submitted by the end of the day Monday, March 2013. The Academic Honors and Scholarship Committee will interview nominees and determine the winner. The nomination form may be downloaded at the following URL:

In addition to the nomination form please submit a cover letter of nomination and support which explains how the nominee best exemplifies academic excellence and the traditions of Valdosta State University.
