The Winston-Salem Police Department is an Internationally Accredited Law Enforcement Agency and is currently accepting applications for the April Academy.

| Starting Salary | $32,100 | |
| A.A.S. Degree | $33,710 | |
| B.A./B.S. Degree | $35,140 |
Qualifications:
*U.S. Citizen
*Possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
*At least 21 years of age
*Be of good moral character, having no felony convicitions, serious misdemeanors or DWI's within the past five years.
*Must be in good physical condition
*Have or be able to obtain a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
Training:

| Field Training | 14 Weeks |
| Probationary Period | 1 Year |
