The Council on Staff Affairs met in the Odum Library Meeting Room, = Tuesday,=20 October 5, 1993.

Present: Vanessa Brunston, Juanita Faircloth, Ann Holland, Wallace=20 Holsendolph, Mike Jones, Russ Mast, John Miller, Donna Nolan, and Karrie = Yeatman.

  1. President Donna Nolan called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.=20
  2. Minutes of September 7, 1993 were approved.=20
  3. Treasurer's report a balance of $2418.34 - accepted.=20
  4. Committee reports:
    Executive - President Nolan reported = several=20 items of interest from the Administrative Council meeting:
    A. = enrollment=20 for Fall '93 near 8700.
    B. work should begin on Brookwood Plaza = within six=20 weeks.
    C. activities are now available for students after football = games=20 (dance/music in old gym and Blazer Caf=C3=A9 open).
    D. ruling = passed - no=20 loitering on campus.

  5. Old Business
    a) There has been no further correspondence from = Dr.=20 Bailey on the tuition waiver proposal.
    B) President Nolan = encouraged=20 everyone to remind their co-workers about the seminars by Personnel=20 conceerning upcoming insurance changes/open enrollment during the = month of=20 November.=20
  6. New Business
    a) Vanessa Brunston gave a report on the (ADA) = American=20 Disabled Association Transition Committee (Special Needs Committee). = Things=20 are being corrected on campus to help the disabled and as with other = things it=20 takes time and money. If you know of a particular problem for = handicapped=20 people, please call Vanessa Brunston in Special Education (x5932) or = Marsha=20 Reed, Director, Office of Special Services (x2498).
    B) any = monthly=20 employee wishing to sign up for direct deposit must do so by Friday, = October=20 8th. Hopefully by the first of the year this will be = available for=20 bi-weekly payroll employees.=20
