Present: Bill Bennett, Sandra Denson, Bill Filtz, Blake Griffin, = Hazel=20 Hewett, Joe Hickey, Trudy Hyatt (Payroll), Mary Jane Keene, Pat Rozier, = Beverly=20 Sharpe, Paul Worth, Tim Yorkey=20

  1. The meeting was called to order at 8:20 A.M. in the President's = Dining=20 Room, Palms Dining Center.=20
  2. Minutes of April 8, 1997 were approved.

4. Treasurer's Report - by Bill Bennett=20

Expenditures for April:=20

Printing - April 54.00=20

  1. Committed Reports=20
    1. Election Recognition Committee- Paul Worth state the Ballots are = all in.=20 There was good turn out for the voting on representatives to COSA. = The=20 winners will be announced at the June meeting.

The Employee of the Quarter display cabinet may be moved to a = different=20 location. The employee of the Quarter will be announced at the June = meeting.=20

  1. Policy Committee - Blake Griffin will address the Rounding Off = between VP=20 class and EEO class in the Bylaws. The issue of Proxy voting will be = addressed=20 by the committee.=20
  2. Welfare committee - Beverly Sharpe stated that a meeting is being = set up=20 for the Retirement Walkway.=20
  3. Salaries Study- Tim Yorkey presented the salary study report. = There will=20 be a copy presented to Dr. Bailey, Mr. Brignati, Mr. Grimsley, and 4 = copies=20 placed in the library under reserve. COSA APPLAUSE TRUDY HYATT = for all=20 her assistance in putting together the salary study report.

Report from the Chair- The next University System of Georgia Staff = Council=20 Meeting is Thursday, May 29, 1997 in Macon, Georgia. Sandra Denson, Bill = Filtz,=20 and Beverly Sharpe will representing COSA at the meeting.=20

    1. Direct Deposit - All Staff will have the option of direct = deposit=20 starting in August, 1997.=20
    2. Tuition Waiver- Everyone will have to be enrolled as a regular = student=20 through the Admissions Office before they can be considered for any = classes.=20
  2. New Business=20
    1. Equity Adjustment- Please see attachment from Dr. Bailey. The = Equity=20 Adjustments is in addition to the pay raise and will be added to the = base=20 salary for FY98.
