<P>The Council on Staff Affairs met in Pound Hall, Room #301, on Monday, =

1, 1993. Chairperson Russ Mast called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.=20
<P>The agenda was as follows:=20
<OL>
  <LI>Special Order of the Day. Representative from AFLAC Supplemental =
Insurance=20
  made their proposal to the COSA and members of the Faculty Senate. The =
COSA=20
  voted unanimously not to offer AFLAC as a payroll deduction. It should =
be=20
  noted that employees may purchase AFLAC on their own.=20
  <LI>A motion was made and passed to approve the minutes of the =
February 1,=20
  1993 meeting.=20
  <LI>Committee Reports=20
  <OL>
    <LI>Executive Committee (Russ Mast) - See Reports from Chair=20
    <LI>Communication Committee (Steve Roberts) - No Report=20
    <LI>Welfare Committee (Angel Diaz) - No Report=20
    <LI>Policy Committee (Karrie Yeatman) - The tuitiion waiver proposal =
was=20
    discussed again. The committee is still working out some of the =
bugs. The=20
    committee hopes to have a final draft ready by the next COSA =
Meeting.=20
  </LI></OL>
  <LI>Russ Mast reported that the Credit Union will stay on the main =
campus. The=20
  future home of the Credit Union will be in Ashley Hall. The =
Trailblazer will=20
  begin to carry more articles about staff employees. The staff has a=20
  representative on the University Transition Committee. Donna Nolan =
represented=20
  COSA at the closing of the Brookwood Plaza.=20
  <LI>Old Business=20
  <OL>
    <LI>The tuition Waiver Proposal was the only Old Business as =
mentioned in=20
    the Policy Committee report. </LI></OL>
  <LI>New Business=20
  <OL>
    <LI>Elections for next years COSA need to be set. Steve Roberts will =
be in=20
    charge of the spring elections. </LI></OL>
  <LI>The next COSA meeting will be April 5, 2:30 p.m., Pound Hall Room =
