Present: Bill Bennett, Joan Brooks, Holly Decker, Sandra Denson, = Wanda=20 DeWeese, Bill Filtz, Blake Griffin, Hazel Hewett, Joe Hickey, Inman = Grimsley,=20 Mary Jane Keene, Tommy Moore, Pat Rozier, Beverly Sharpe, Paul Worth, = Jim Yates,=20 Tim Yorkey=20

  1. The meeting was called to order at 8:20 A.M. in the President's = Dining=20 Room, Palms Dining Center.=20
  2. Special Order of the Day - Dr. Bailey presented the = Employee of the=20 Quarter certificate, special parking permit, and a $50 check to Ms. = PAT=20 FLEETWOOD. Certificates were presented to the finalists Gail = Brooks,=20 Deborah Holly, and Mary Jo Mitchell. Thirteen (13) nominees received=20 certificates in the mail.=20
  3. Minutes of February 11, 1997 were approved.=20
  4. Treasurer's Report - by Bill Bennett

    1. Election Recognition Committee - Holly Decker is getting = together with=20 Paul Worth for Plats to be given out to past COSA members that = served On the=20 board.=20
    2. Policy Committee - No report=20
    3. Welfare Committee - Beverly Sharpe reports there will be a = meeting soon=20 to further discuss the Retirement Walkway.=20
    4. Salaries Study- Tim Yorkey reports the salary study is still = being=20 worked on. He hopes to have it ready at the next meeting.
  2. Report from the Chair-

Bill Filtz reported about the University System of Georgia Staff = Council=20 meeting on February 17, 1997 in Macon Georgia. Copies of that meeting = were=20 passed out to COSA members. COSA has elected not to have the State = Council=20 Conference here this year.=20

  1. Old Business-=20
    1. Parking- The Ad Hoc Committee met on February 14, 1997 to = discuss the=20 parking situation. Copies of the minutes were passed out regarding = the=20 meeting. Blake Griffin sent a copy of the minutes to Mr. Jim = Brignati and cc=20 to Dr. Bailey. The committee will write up a proposal. Joan Brooks = said that=20 the parking committee goes over the tickets/complaints and decides = if the=20 person must pay.=20
    2. Direct Deposit - The direct deposit for Bi Weekly staff is being = considered. There should be an announcement in the next couple of = months.=20
