  1. The meeting was called to order at 8:15 A.M. in the President's = Dining=20 Room, Palms Dining Center.=20
  2. Special Order of the Day:=20
    1. Employee of the Quarter - Dr. Bailey presented the = Employee of=20 the Quarter certificate, a special parking permit, and a $50 check = to Ms.=20 PATRICIA MINCEY (History Department). Certificates were also=20 presented to finalists: Pearl Everett, Jeanette Mayer, Patsy Pitts, = Carolyn=20 Shaw. Sixteen (16) Nominees received certificates in the mail.=20
    2. Certificates given to COSA members who have served their = term:=20 Joan Brooks, Sandra Denson, Wanda DeWeese, Blake Griffin, Mary Jane = Keene,=20 Bert Rodriguez, and Jim Yates.=20

6. Report from the Chair -

University System of Georgia Staff Council Meeting on 5/29/97 in = Macon,=20 Georgia spoke about Tuition Remission, and the possibility of Staff = being=20 included in SACS. A copy of the minutes from the Staff Council Meeting = were=20 handled. Out. Staff Luncheon is every 3rd Tuesday in May. The = staff=20 luncheon is an area that COSA will help in getting the word out.

    1. Retirement Walkway- We will again attempt to schedule a meeting = with the=20 appropriate faculty senate committee.
  2. New Business=20
    1. Health/Life Insurance, Eye Care, and Pharmacy- Inman Grimsley = states the=20 health rates are the same for employees. The Life Insurance cost = went down.=20 He addressed some of the problems that were occuring with eye care = and the=20 pharmacy benefits. If employees are experiencing problems please = contact the=20 insurance office.
