COUNCIL ON STAFF AFFAIRS

Minutes, February 1, 1993
The Council on Staff Affairs met in Pound Hall, Room #301, on Monday, =
February 1, 1993. Chairman Russ Mast called the meeting to order at 2:30 =
p.m.=20
Present: Norma Barr, Vanessa Brunston, Juanita Faircloth, Inman =
Grimsley, Bob=20
Krawcyzk, Robert Lee, Russ Mast, Donna Nolan, and Karrie Yeatman.=20
The agenda was as follows:=20
- A motion was made and passed to approve the minutes of the =
November 30,=20
1992 meeting.=20
- Committee Reports=20
- Executive Committee (Russ Mast) - see New Business=20
- Communications Committee (Steve Roberts) - no report=20
- Welfare Committee (Angel Diaz) - no report=20
- Policy Committee (Karrie Yeatman) - Dr. Bailey endorses COSA's=20
resolution supporting tuition waiver for all University System =
employees.=20
The proposal submitted to the Board of Regents from GA State =
University has=20
been tabled. The Welfare and Policy Committees will meet and write a =
new=20
proposal for tuition waiver. This proposal will be reviewed at the =
next=20
Executive Meeting as a possible Tuition Waiver proposal to be sent =
from=20
VSC's COSA to the Board of Regents.
- Russ Mast reported new member, Bill England, was unable to attend =
this=20
meeting due to a prior committment.=20
- Old Business=20
- The Holiday Schedule will be the same as last year. The Fourth =
of July=20
Holiday is on Sunday, employees will be given the option of taking =
Friday or=20
Monday.
- New Business=20
- Inman Grimsley passed out a report from AFLAC (Supplemental =
Insurance)=20
This benefit report is attached for your review. A representative =
from AFLAC=20
will attend the March 1st COSA meeting to talk about =
their=20
supplemental insurance.=20
- On move and second, COSA agreed to join E-Mail, the computer =
information=20
network for staff government from other colleges and universities. =
Ann=20
Holland was appointed to work with E-Mail.
