The Council on Staff Affairs met in the President's Dining Room, = Palms Dining=20 Center.=20

Present: Bill Bennett, Joan Brooks, Chenee Chisholm, Sandra Denson, = Wanda=20 DeWeese, Bill Filtz, Mary Jane Keene, Pat Rozier, Beverly Sharpe, Sue = Teel, Paul=20 Worth, Jim Yates.=20

  1. Chair, Sue Teel called the meeting to order at 8:22 am.=20

  2. Minutes of the November 14, 1995 meeting were approved.=20

  3. Treasurer's Report: No Report for November Expenditures available. =

  4. Committee Reports=20

    a) Communications/Elections Committee - Paul Worth reported that = he had=20 divided faculty and staff, with e-mail addresses into two separate = lists. He=20 will be the moderator for the Staff list - VSUSTA@CATFISH and Glenda = Atkins=20 will be the moderator for the Faculty list - VSUFAC@CATFISH. This = was done=20 to improve communication between the COSA and the staff members it=20 represents.=20

    b) Policy - No Report=20

    c) Welfare - Beverly Sharpe reported that the Welfare Committee = met and=20 set the criteria for retiree recognition. She also commented that = start up=20 costs, maintenance, funding, and all other relevant matters for both = the=20 Retiree Walkway and Retiree Plaque were being investigated. Once all = information is received a proposal will be presented to the COSA for = approval.=20

    d) Parking Appeals - Approximately 30 to 35 parking appeals were = handled=20 by the committee.=20

    e) Employee Recognition - No report=20

    f) Bylaws - No report=20

    g) Staff Development - Pat Rozier reported that a Stress = Reduction=20 Workshop is tentatively scheduled for February 2, 1996. There will = be more=20 information available as it arises.=20

    h) Salaries Study Committee - No report

  7. New Business=20

    a) Chair Teel has set tentative dates for the Staff Wide Tour of = the=20 University Center. They are Mon, Dec. 18 at 2pm and Tue, Dec. 19 at = 10am.=20 Interested parties should meet at the University Center main = entrance.=20

    b) Chenee Chisholm has resigned effective December 31, 1995 from = the=20 COSA. Bill Filtz has taken the position of Secretary and Tim Yorkey = has been=20 elected Chair of the Salaries Study Committee. Paul Worth, Chair of = the=20 Communications Committee, will check the ballots from the last = election to=20 determine who will fill the Student Affairs Area vacancy. =
