The Council on Staff Affairs met in the President's Dining Room in = Palms=20 Dining Center on August 8, 1995.=20

Members Present: Bill Bennett, Joan Brooks, Chenee Chisholm, Sandra = Denson,=20 Wanda DeWeese, Bill Filtz, Blake Griffin, Inman Grimsley, Mary Jane = Keene,=20 Beverly Sharpe, Paul Worth, and Jim Yates.=20

  1. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair, Sandra Denson at = 8:27 a.m.=20

  2. The minutes of the July 11, 1995 meeting were approved as written. =

  3. Treasurer's Report: Balance as of June 30, 1995: $1, 015.89=20

  4. Committee Reports:=20

    a. Welfare - No Report
    b. Policy - No Report
    c. = Communication - No=20 Report
    d. Employee Recognition - No Report
    e. Parking Appeals = - No=20 Report
    f. By-Laws - No Report
    g. Staff Development - No=20 Report

    Board member Wanda DeWeese was appointed to the By-Laws Committee = by Vice=20 Chair, Sandra Denson.=20

  5. Old Business:=20

    a. House Bill #311: Bill #311 is still pending in the Georgia=20 Legislature. Blake Griffin will draft a letter with regard to COSA's = support=20 of this Bill and bring it the September 12, 1995 COSA meeting.=20

    b. Sexual Harassment Grievance Procedures: Inman Grimsley = reported that=20 he is waiting for a response from Vice President James Brignati and=20 President Hugh Bailey regarding staff/faculty representation during = sexual=20 harassment hearings.

  6. Other Business:=20

    a. Vice Chair, Sandra Denson encouraged all committees to meet = and begin=20 working on projects for the upcoming year.=20

    b. COSA received a thank you note from Eva Wilson, Custodial = Services.=20 Ms. Wilson's grandson, Dell Wilson, died recently and COSA sent a = sympathy=20 card to the family.

  7. Meeting was adjourned at 8:49 a.m. The next meeting is Tuesday, = September=20 12, 1995, 8:15 a.m. in the President's Dining Room, Palms Dining = Center.=20
